Mini Cat CASE and an Extreme Bday

Just a few random cards to share. The first is a CASE from the mini catalog. Can you find it? Its the example on page 5. What a fun layout! My 10 yo daughter needed a card for her cousin's b-day party and she helped me create this - colors and all. (Cousin's favorite colors are blue and orange...) We used Pumpkin Pie, Ballet Blue, Choc Chip and Whisper White CS. Pumpkin Ribbon, rub-on for greeting and assorted circle punches were also used. She did all the coloring and I helped with getting the focal image cut out using the Circle Sissor Cutter. We had to be careful not to cut off the balloon because we wanted that to poke out from the edge of the circle. The new Beary Best Friends BABW stamp set was used. Next is a card my 8 yo son needed for a b-day party the same weekend. This card is CASE'd from a very talented stamper on Splitcoast. You can see the original card HERE. The stamp sets are Extreme Skateboard (one of the great new single image stamps for under $10!!) and Itty Bitty Backgrounds. I couldn't find a star image I liked so I punched out a small star and used that as a stencil. Using a sponge, I stamped different colors to the background to get that effect. Colors used are Tempting Turquioise, Old Olive, Basic Gray, Basic Black and Whisper White. Spiral punch, small Star punch and Chit Chat rub-ons for the greeting. The olive DSP is from the Cottage Wall paper pack.
My 8 yo thought the skateboard card was cool so you know that's a hit! ~Heidi

My "first" my digital studio page

This software is so fun. Even though this page isn't the greatest, I had a great time creating it! There were better sets to use and perhaps other things that I could've tried, but this was what I came up with. Sista Becky printed it out for me and it looks great. The best advice for My DS is to play with it as much as you can. This page only took about 5 minutes to do and I spent another half hour playing around with it. It's sooooo fun! I need to try the other options- cards, calendars and other page sizes! Sera

Happy Birthday to me!

I would never do this on a regular birthday... it's hardly a milestone for me. However, when your all-time favorite athlete debuts for your team, at home, on your birthday (by the way, he and I are the same age for 13 days until he turns the big 4-0 on the 10th) and he wins the game with two seconds to go... then you gotta blog it. True story! I knew you would all understand. Thanks for all of the well wishes... I spent most of the day watching him, and I worked with the new My Digital Studio software... and now that I have done some of the training... WOW is all I have to say. It IS as incredible as everyone says it is. I'll have to share a few pages with you. Okay... off to stamp before the week begins. We'll get back to stamping-related things tomorrow. Hee Hee! Sera

Falling Leaves

I love this stamp set! I had some scraps laying around and came up with this on a whim. It's alright, but the awesome part is that the stamp set is so easy to use and I can't get enough of it! I used Crushed Curry, Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip and it looks nice. Some of the cardstock is Kraft. Off to make a few more! Sera

Grateful (for these cards) & Sista Becky!

I was looking for something simple, and after a few blog ideas, I found this card here. I changed a few things, but you get the idea. The cards are of the Falling Leaves stamp set of course, with more mustard, elegant eggplant, always artichoke and ruby red. The other is taken with teal, really rust, tempting turquoise and close to cocoa. I stuck an eyelet on there too! The design is very simps but "together." I love that! A grateful card for my SIL. Happy Birthday Sista, Becky! Sera

Autumn Traditions Quilt Technique

I have been having a great time with the Autumn Traditions DSP as you have seen. I made this card with some scraps and my club members had a great time with it today as well. All you need is the large square punch to punch out 12 squares and place them side by side on a cardfront size piece of cardstock. Grab your big shot and the top note die... run it through and you are set! It can appear to be time consuming, but I did 8 cards when I got home and it was a cinch! I used the Falling Leaves stamp set as well as the matching wheel. I'm loving this combo as of late! Sera

Aluminum Foil ... not just for the kitchen!

I saw this technique and was hugely impressed. Every person has their own way of doing it, but worked out well for me is to adhere heavy duty aluminum foil (matte side down) to cardstock (any color will do - I used a "less used" color) with a heavy duty spray adhesive (I used Krylon). I sprayed the full sheet of CS, then turned it upside down onto the AF and used my brayer to smooth it out. You can get 2 sheets of CS wide on one section of the wide AF. After 1/2 hr, it's dry and you trim the edges of the AF away from the CS, cut the CS into 4 - 4.25x5.5" peices so they easily fit in any BigShot folder or on the texture plates - that's what I used here - then punched it out with the 2 star punches and layered. Super simple card and perfect for either gender and any age! CS: textured bermuda bay, whisper white, old olive DSP; staz-on black ink; crushed curry polka dot grosgrain; vintage brads; horizontal slot punch; signo white gel pen; dimensionals; SS: teeny tiny wishes, sporting. Hope you enjoy using aluminum foil in your projects! Angie (here are 2 other samples I created with FUN FOIL!!)

Big Shot Autumn Idea

I've seen these made in a number of ways and I thought what a perfect idea for Fall! The Autumn Traditions DSP and the big shots dies made it very easy. These single shots are better than the pictures I have of the entire decoration, but you can see how it all goes together. They are attached to ribbon and then they hang as a wall hanging. The top is jazzed up with a bunch of ribbon. Great Fun! Sera

Sweet Treat Cups

Here is a unique idea made with the sweet treat cups in the Holilday Mini Catalog. These fun new accessories are the perfect touch to give your cards, gifts and other decorations! They provide a 3D lift and some great texture! Use them just the right way and you can taste and smell what's inside (Yes, I've tried it, however it's not blog-worthy). A fun idea! Sera

Razzleberry Triangle Box

I made this triangle box with a 4.25 x 11 piece of textured razzleberry cs stamped using razzleberry ink and the Retro Remix stampin around wheel. The flower is made with the SU Blossom Party Original Sizzix Die and melon mambo, whisper white and crushed curry cs, a crystal brad from the prettties kit and dimensionals. The "thank you" is from teeny tiny wishes stamp set; ribbon is whisper white taffeta. This made a great hostess gift and would be great filled with chocolate or filled with chocolate or even a gift card would fit in this size - could put some confetti in there with that gift card. Too bad a diet pepsi wouldn't fit....because that's a GREAT gift! Thanks for looking, Angie
