Convention stamp sets

Here are the stamp sets that we received at convention. Don't you love them? Today was such a great day. We learned all sorts of great things. We had our first make and take session and it was very fun! As far as announcements go, we have some fun decor elements that are coming in the fall. Different colors even! They are rolling it out as phase two. Here are the girls' fave parts of the day... for all of us, the video of Mary Polcin receiving her million dollar sales recognition at SU headquarters! They had a huge party for her and it was awesome! We were all crying and we loved the video! It sounds silly, but Mary is so humble, it was so amazing! We are waiting for our pizza now and we have awards ceremony in about an hour. Tomorrow will be a HUGE DAY. We'll talk more soon! Sera

Greetings from Convention!

Hello from convention '08! How awesome does this cover look? Wait until you open it! We are all so pumped that we are screaming about something new every two minutes! Heidi is pumped that Season of Joy returned, Angie loves the new flower fusion colors (chocolate chip, baja breeze & pink pirouette) and the die cut blooms made it in, plus another group, blooms again! Carmen is doing the happy dance about the new square scallop punch and I am pumped (way pumped) about Tart and Tangy- you bet your cherries she's back and so is her DSP! Tomorrow is another busy day. Convention actually starts and we have a full day, plus awards day tomorrow night! Sera

Pullout mini scrapbooks

Here is a scrapbook I made for one of my downline members. I have made a bunch this past week and have been giving them out as I see the girls! So Fun! These were thank you gifts in celebration of a great year with SU! Both sides pull out even though it isn't pictured on the one side. These have been on many blogs- thanks everyone for all of that inspiration and here is a tutorial. I'm sure you are wondering about that "i", I had some old SU glitter and was pondering on using it all together- thankfully this sista loves green. I'll be sure to post a few more of these as well. Updates on our final RMH card count and a convention send off, all before we leave for Utah! Sera

220 Cards for RMH!

Remember these wonderful sets? Another retired set here and there, but a perfect card to donate to the RMH. Angie has a batch of cards ready to go too and I found a few more. How exciting and thanks, Angie! Convention is right around the corner. I can smell that new catalog now! What an exciting time, and what an awesome donation we will have for the Ronald McDonald house! Sera

182 Cards for RMH!

I'm very excited to announce that we have 182 cards to take to Utah for their local Ronald McDonald House. Heidi and Peg (and friends) just brought over a box of cards and here are some of the cards pictured above. Bring back some memories? I'm still accepting cards so if you have some that you want to send along with us- we'll take them! So far we are shy of our record from last year (266). Oh- Make sure to include envelopes as well. In fact, last year, someone gave me a box because she didn't have many cards to donate, so that is an option as well. I'll take either or both! I've been recycling some cardfronts this week- it's fun to look back! I'll post more of these gems later! Thanks everyone! Sera

July Color Combo #6

This is the card that Kristine created with Punch Pals, the same style Carmen used... love that. I haven't done many Christmas in July things, looking at this set and this card I'm certainly in the mood to start dusting off those sets. HOWEVER- all of my Christmas sets are retired for the most part! Guess I'll have to purchase some new ones! Sera

Color Combo #5

This was Carmen's awesome card from our new catalog swap. She was one of the first to put these two In Colors together and we've all copied! Kristine made a Christmas card with this very same idea in mind... I'll post it tomorrow. I'm having a great time going through cards for the RMH. A few of these gems I cannot part with! The set is In the Spotlight, from the Fall/Winter catalog that retired long ago... but wasn't it the best set for punches? Sera

Christmas in July Color Combos #4

I was looking through some of my cards and came across this 3x3 and this other card- all made with the '07 In Colors. I remember this first set was in the Holiday mini last season, and the other card is parts of the set Punch Pals. I believe I have some of the hostess sets mixed in here as well. I just remember being at convention last year thinking that these were the coolest colors ever, as were these sets and SU! is the best and I loved everything! Still do! Kristine

July Color Combo #3

I was inspired by all of the 2-4-6-8 boxes that sista Heidi made not to long ago and thought I would incorporate them into my workshop. This is Unfrogettable, which I used a few days ago with Wild Wasabi (See the post below, 7/15). I demonstrated how to make this box and then had one done for the hostess in advance and gave this one as a door prize. Groovy Guava is the other color- LOVE IT! Oh- if you want to see another Blossoms Abound post (similar to yesterday), that card is on this blog. Posted on 7/16. Thanks for posting, Michelle! Feel free to share your favorite retiring cards and color combos, sistas- through next week! After that... it's all about convention mania! Sera

July Color Combo #2

It sure is going to be hard to see these colors go! I still have a place in my heart for Marigold Morning, True Thyme and Cranberry Crisp! Above, I used the set Blossoms Abound... another fave that I won't be parting with anytime soon. The DSP is soft sky, as is the first stamped color. Over the top is blue bayou. The base of the card is that color as well as the sentiment on the bottom. For the leaves I stamped with wild wasabi and simply stamped off once. It worked perfectly for this card and I was sticking to my In Colors and had to make it work. There was too much space in the corner, so I punched some DSP with the photo corner punch (the smaller corner) and placed it there. Many of you have seen this card in other colors that I've made as well. I just love it! Sera

July Color Combo #1

With two weeks left until convention, I can hardly believe how fast the time goes. As I look at this set, Unfrogettable, it seems as though it just came out! This is all about Wild Wasabi. I have a workshop this evening and we are going to play with retiring sets and colors. The DSP is Wild Wasabi also, a part of the 6x6 hostess options for level one. I have another box that I'll post later in the week using this set as well! LOVE IT! Starting on July 17, we'll celebrate retired stamp sets and colors for a few days before convention mania hits. Feel free to post your current faves that will be retiring soon. If you have last minute orders don't forget to place those right away... the new catalog kicks off in August! Sera

Fresh Cuts Project

Here is a card I created with the NEW Fresh Cuts stamp set we could order in June. For my stamp club we featured the pretties kit in June and this card uses the 1/2 pearl for the center of the flower. CS used: always artichoke, barely banana, summer sun, and very vanilla; Ink: always artichoke, barely banana and summer sun; Accessories: 5-petal flower, lg oval, and old spring flowers punchs, antique brass brad, 1/2 pearl, blender pen, dimensionals, always artichoke 1/4" grosgrain. That old spring flowers punch worked perfect to punch out the small 5-petal flower from the Fresh Cuts set. I used dimensionals on the layers on top and the oval, sponged always artichoke ink on the oval, floral background stamp on the banana card stock. I really like how this turned out - its a good summer card! Enjoy ~ Angie

Lunchbox Gift

These lunchboxes are so fun to make! It has been such a long time since I made one and of course, I have about ten of them on my closet just waiting to become something extraordinary! Inside I put the dividers (12) that you see in the 2nd picture. Each one is tabbed and marked with the months of the year. I have a bunch of cards that I put in there so the gift is not only the container, but 12 cards as well. They don't match the box. I know, I know that isn't like me! The alphabet set is from long ago, but I adore it and still use it faithfully! The DSP is Cutie Pie which I'm sure will be gone in a month, I need to stock up! The colors that coordinate are bashful blue, certainy celery, so saffron and rose red. For those of you that know my friend Tracy (sistas, you met her at the airport when we went to SLC in '05) this box is for her. She is going to love it! Sera

Glitter Window

This card was inspired by some of the great ideas we received a regional. Angie posted one not long ago and I created this using those combined ideas. This is a preview of a newer set that is coming in August. Everything coordinates- including the blues and oranges! Enjoy! Carmen

Happy Thoughts!

This was our make and take at the downline sista meeting tonight. As you can see, the card can go both ways which is fun. There are many elements to the scallop- lots of circles and DSP, flowers for you, which makes it a polished but simple card. Thanks sistas for a great meeting and lots of great swaps! The colors in this DSP and card are Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac, Regal Rose & Certainly Celery!
