Just B

This picture was taken at the regional in Milwaukee last April. I'm sharing this with you because I have two of the Just B set. So sistas, if you need one say the word. I was in a regional mood the other day and figured out my swap for this regional in MPLS. Funny how they only come up here in the Spring, they've learned! Remember Milwaukee '06? Maybe is was '05. I'm still cold from that trip! Sera

Valentine decor

I'm starting to put away the Valentine decorations and I just don't want to take this down! Hee hee! This is another one of my frame decorations made with the Big Shot and the letters. I love them! This frame worked with
the ornaments, and I made another frame with Cupid and I couldn't get the ornaments to work with it, but thank goodness for the SU ribbon! It did just the trick. This frame though, looks great- the rub-ons add a nice dimension too. I've found a few more Valentine items to sneak in quick before this romantic month is over! Sera

Valentine's Day punch cards

This morning I made the kids and my husband their valentine cards. The inspiration for the cards came from Splitcoast I believe. I don't remeber the original artists, but thank you to whoever you are - you're ideas came together quickly and easily. The kissing fish card was made using these punches - 1 3/4" circle, scallop edge, 5 petal flower, boho blossoms and 1/4" circle. The heart on that card was cut out the old fashion way (folding the card stock in half and cutting). Colors are whisper white, basic black, real red, tempting turquoise and old olive. Holidays and Wishes v-day greeting. The frog card uses these punches - large oval, small oval, 1/2" circle, 1/4" circle, and the old 3 flower punch (the one before boho blossoms). Colors are real red, glorious green, green galore, basic black. The monkey card uses the wide oval, 1 1/4" circle, 1/2" circle, 1/4" circle and the pink heart was cut freehand too. Colors are Real red, close to cocoa, chocolate chip, whisper white and pixie pink. Even my husband said - these are really cute!! Wow, he never usually comments. Have a great Valentine's Day everyone. ~Heidi

Secret Valentines

I'm not going to tell you who I had for my secret valentine, but I am going to give you a partial peek. You'll know who you are when you receive this and it will be soon, I promise :)
I'll show you what's on the inside next time! ~Heidi

Valentine

I've been having a great time looking through some of my Valentine card creations. I made this one over a month ago for our swap and the birds never did it for me- but they are cute here. I'm really going to be sad once this RHRed goes, love it! Thanks for blogging while I was sick, sistas... I'm off to finish my Valentines! Sera

Heart to Heart b/c Love Matters

I'm in love with the Raspbery Tart and Candy Cane DSP! I used the Love Matters Bundle for my workshop last month to do the little pizza box with 3 x 3's to fill it. The two close-ups are of my favorite two. The heart punch was a hit at a FRG meeting (think Army Wives the TV show, only real...they get together to support each other and this time they made Valentine Day cards for their deployed spouses). I had all sorts of DSP hearts punched out and I had some leftovers. The leftovers fit perfectly with the above card I cased from Splitcoast. I changed it up a bit but it was too fun not to do! VD isn't my favorite holiday but I had fun with projects this year. Hope you are all doing well! Nicolle

Sista inspired Valentines

These little gems are totally CASE'd from Sista Sera. She gets all the credit. She demoed this at Sista Lynnae's in January and I used it for my daughter's school valentines. To make these use the Scallop Envelope Die and cut out the shape twice to make one holder (one for front, one for back). The top scallop is folded down on the front so you can see the reverse of the DSP, the back scallop is scored and folded over the top for a cool layed effect. You do have to cut off a portion of the bottom before you fold on the score lines and assemble. The crease pad helps a bunch when making these - gets those score lines nice and creased without cutting through. I used 6x6 pieces of DSP to make these (those hostess sampler packs are perfect - great tip Sera!). After you have cut out the shape, use the scrap of the 6x6 to cut the belly band (about 3/4" wide) and punch tags, etc. Being as these are valentines that have to be "mailed" in class, we chose to add a greeting and to/from on the back so we know who they go to. This card is adhered to the belly band also so the whole piece slips off to get to the M&M's inside. Yum!! Here is the back - greeting is from a retired set, Animal Valentines. ~Heidi

Big Shot Valentine #2

This is it! This was a simple mailbox... you've all seen them, and Becky made these adorable letters with the Big Shot and the Naturally Serif Die. She used some white sticky vinyl and instead of some paper decorating, we put the last name on there, decorated the handle and it looks great! Of course there were a fair amount of chocolate treats in there as well. Great work sista Becky!

Valentine tease

This is a teaser to a very cool gift sista Becky and I made for sista Lynnae last week. She hosted the sistas at her home and we made an appreciation Valentine gift for her. Really it wasn't meant to be a secret, I just can't get the blogger to download 2 pictures for me tonight and I have no patience to wrestle with it, and you probably can tell what it is! Notice the Sell-A-Bration set used, and I love those flower brads! I'll have the full recipe and picture tomorrow... stay tuned! Sera

Sweet!

This is by far my fave set these days, and I was making that bag I mentioned, (see the 1-14-09 post) but I sent the card out right away before a matching bag was ready... hang on for that post. I've seen some clever Valentine's with this as well. In fact, I hope your day is the sweetest ever! Sorry for the quick post, I've got the crud, a cupcake is sure to fix it! Sera

Big Shot Valentine #1

This was created after I saw and heard what Pam Morgan shared at Leadership. This is simply the scallop circle die (cut with the Big Shot, of course) sort of rounded together, "adheased" together and decorated. This one has a fruit roll-up inside- very fun. I'm trying to decide if they are going to be the classroom Valentine this year. I used Love You Much for the embellishment. These are also cute without a handle on the top, I'm thinking May Day! (Who wouldn't it's freezing out there!) Happy Groundhog Day, 26 more weeks of winter, shadow or no shadow! Sera

Love is in the air

I love this card! There is something about that Scallop Envelope Bigz Die, I love it! This stamp set is Love You Much and even though the special is over- we can still purchase the set. Of course this Bella DSP is "the bomb" as my son would say, love that too! So sistas, it's February, time for two weeks of Valentine/Sweetheart posts for two full weeks! I love this time of year! Sera
