April Color Combo and Occasions Mini

With 15 minutes to spare we squeak out another monthly color combo. This card was originally designed and made by Sista Sera. She was kind enough to lend it to me for a workshop where we were using this set for the make and take, but I went and lost it. So tonight trying to re-create from memory, this is what I came up with; hope I got close. Stamp set is Big on Spring from the Occasions mini collection. Card base is Wild Wasabi 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. Apricot DSP from the level 1 prints pack, cameo coral and white CS. Wasabi ink and stitched ribbon finish it off. Oh and a little dimensional to make that cute little onesie "pop". Happy May Day! ~Heidi

Center Pieces

I made these center pieces with die-cut blooms, mainly the real red flowers (in the Occasions Mini catalog), the scallop punch, the five petal punch and all sorts of circle punches in various sizes, and the Tagger's Dozen stamp set. This idea came from sistas Heidi and Terri. Thank you! This is simply a plastic cup tipped upside down, the blooms are attached to skeweres and they are pierced through the cup and ta da! I used some curly ribbon to tie the tissue paper around the cup and I was set. I made little "vases" for each table to celebrate Administrative Professionals Day last week. So fun! Sera

Live Your Dream

Oops! We missed a day in our Occasions mini catalog week, however, we're back and here is a nice card with the stamp set, Live Your Dream and the DSP Afternoon Tea. I don't have this set, in fact it's really pieces from the 6x6 we made at regional. I just took the parts to create this card on Wild Wasabi instead. I just love the saying in this set. It's perfect! (Sorry the picture is a little dark. In a mad panic, I took this photo on my stove top since I couldn't find anything black, there was a glare and then my battery died, augh). I know TMI! Still love the card! Sera

Bloomin' Beautiful

As you can tell, this is my favorite set right now. I can't get enough watercoloring! And my new passion is for scalloping edges with my corner rounder. This card was made with Naturals White, River Rock, and Wild Wasabi cs. I used River Rock, Wild Wasabi, and Groovy Guava ink. And my other favorite tool as of lately, the Coluzzle. I used the Coluzzle to cut out 2 circles and then I used my corner rounder to scallop the edge of one. ~Becky

Drag & Brag on the 26th!

It's still Occasions Mini Catalog week, but I needed to take a break from it to do a drag and brag. Although, I did use some ribbon from it, at any rate. This is a wall hanging that I started a few weeks ago and finally finished it up this weekend. I have the 1 inch gash on my hand to prove it. The exacto knife and I were wrestling, he won. This is awesome though! I found these chipboard flowers at the local craft store that starts with an "M." These flowers are at least 6 inches tall, larger than a CD. I used our retired DSP, Linen Prints and our on board chipboard letters to spell create. The colors are cameo coral, old olive, chocolate chip and few others in the DSP. I added some ribbon, large brads and presto! I'm excited about this! I had a few flowers and buttons, but it was getting to be too much. I liked just the DSP- with the wild prints it was just enough. Hope you like it! Sera

Big on Spring

I promised to change it up a bit with a new set. It's still Occasions Mini Catalog week, just somethng different, finally, Big on Spring. I stamped the word bride and then took the blender pen and smeared the flowers and stems so they looked "colored in." I used the DSP Flowers for You, the window punch, a matching brad and some pink taffeta ribbon. I used the corner rounder on one side for fun and it turned out cute! Sera

Mini Deco Lunch bags

You've seem me do this style a million times. The best is making a regular card and being all excited about it and then right in front of someone- RIP it in half, attach it to the lunch bag- and the oooohs and aaahs fill the room. You know all of these SU! products by heart, I'm sure, but check out the link to the right to find this DS paper, the die cut blooms and more! Sera

Rub-ons and Blooms, again...

Have I mentioned how much I love the rub-ons????? I'm not a huge fan of white craft ink (always makes a big mess for me) and the white rub-ons are perfect for adding white to your colored cardstock. Rubbo-presto, done and no mess. This card is totally cased from Cindy Beach's blog (www.stampspaperandink.com). Card base is the Wild Wasabi promo paper which I cut down to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 so I can mail this card to a friend. Bottom layer is Naturals White with a little strip of Choc Chip. I popped out a couple die-cut blooms, added a quick rub on from the Perfect Day rub ons and inked up the Thank You from Much Appreciated. I popped up the flower with some dimensionals too. Done in under 10 minutes. Maybe 7. It's taking me longer to post this than to make the card :) ~Heidi

Occasions Mini Card!

I know, I'm obsessed with this set, Tart and Tangy. Even more so, I just love that real red striped wide gros grain ribbon. I was telling the sistas at regional that this ribbon even makes a "knot tying idiot" like myself- a genius! Love that! And if you are wondering- no I haven't used up all of my Summer Picnic DSP yet.- AND I ordered another! I may have to do Occasions Mini Catalog Week until June! Tomorrow though, I'll switch it up. I have a few different things in store for you for the next few days. Sera

Occasions Mini Catalog Week continues!

I adore this set! I've said that before! It's in the Occasions mini catalog. Bloomin' Beautiful, and even though I don't own it... yet... I stamped about 39 images on white cardstock (I told you this last week) and have colored a bunch of them in and these cards here turned out great! I'm using the same color scheme as the last group. In fact, these were all put in a stationary folder that I plan to give to an administrative professional at work on her big day, Wednesday. And oh- by the way- Regional rocked! Pictures are on their way. Sera

Me too!

So Becky was almost right when she said she went right to IKEA after seeing the punch holding bars in the April Stampin' Success mag... only she left out that she drug me with ;) So here are mine, my husband put them up today. In the second picture, I had him a mount a small one under my wheel holder (that he made me awhile ago), It holds the wheel handles and ink cartridges. So cool! ~ Carolyn

Tart & Tangy to go!

I have I told you that I love this set? I'm mean have I really said it yet? I wasn't "sold" on it right away, but these little waterbottle "life jackets" rock don't they? Becky and Heidi deserve all the credit with these. They helped me prepare for an expo one night and at 4am we had these complete. Of course, there is plenty of DS paper, Summer Picnic and we also used some eyelets that I have been hoarding over the years. They were a hit at the expo and everyone agreed that they make a super awesome spring treat! Sera

Summer Picnic

This DS paper Summer Picnic is awesome with Die-Cut Blooms! Obviously they were coordinated to go together. I used my favorite alphabet for the center of the flower. You'll see a lot more projects during this alphabet during Occasions Mini Catalog Week. This is a nice and quick card that is striking and when I made a bunch at one time for someone, I could use all sorts of the flowers and make different patterns, DS paper too! I had a bundle of ten cute cards all monogrammed of course, in just a few minutes! Sera

Occasions Mini - No stamping

This card doesn't have any ink on it. Very rare in my world. The base is Choc Chip CS and the stem of the flower is wide Old Olive grosgrain ribbon. The rest is from the Occasions Mini. Punched out a few blooms for the flower, added some dimensionals to give it a little "life", cut up a flower into smaller peices for the petals and a little rub on sentiment and you are done. Voila! I know this post is in the middle of the night, and will show up on the 18th, but in my book (being as I'm still up) I'm counting it as the 17th. And, since most of my sista's will be at the regional tomorrow, I'll have to post again tonight for the 18th. Wouldn't want to miss a day - tee hee! Good night ~Heidi

Occasions Mini Catalog Week!

I just adore this set. It's one of those- I don't have it but I love it sort of things. I stamped a bunch of these images on cardstock and took them home (Becky has the set) and now I've been using them for cards. Becky water colored these two. She used the blender pen and some ink, and then tried the watercolor crayons. They look great! The DS paper is long gone (retired), but I only had a few pieces to use up. The colors are bashful blue (I'm in that mode for some reason) close to cocoa and blush blossom. There is some certainly celery in there as well. Check out this set, Bloomin' Beautiful, in the Occasions Mini Catalog at the link to the right! Sera

It's all about the cherries!

It's Occasions Mini Catalog week and these cherries remind me of Hi Ho Cherry-O! You remember that game I'm sure. So... here is another card from the Occasions Mini Catalog! I do love bashful blue and real red together. This is a 4x6 frame that is laying flat, yet set up a bit because of the stand behind it. It's meant for a desk as a little message board with the post-it notes. The pen was made to match as well. As you can see in the close up, I put some rub-ons on the grosgrain ribbon. I had never tried that before! LOVE IT! The DS paper Summer Picnic is a great match when used with the stamp set Tart and Tangy. All of this together reminds me of fruit medley! Sera

Occasions Mini Catalog Week (no, really, it is!)

So when one plans a week, one should look at the calendar to make sure one knows when she is going to be available. AUGH! Yes it started this Sunday, Occasions Mini Catalog Week! Above is a centerpiece that I made for an expo a few weeks ago. I even used those old olive rub-ons and it really added to the mini bucket. Add some red shred (thanks, Heidi), some grosgrain, all kinds that match and yahoo! The flowers of course, are the die-cut blooms in the Occasions Mini- check the link to the right if you want to see more. The sistas plan to add their OMC creations until May 1st, right sistas? I have lots of great things to share, can't wait! Go Wild! Sera

What did you do this weekend?

What did everybody do this weekend? Bob and I worked a bit on organizing my stamp room. I went directly to Ikea after seeing this in the SS. I love it! It's so easy to grab a punch and I can see what I have. ~Becky

April Color Combo and Frosted Filters

Trying out the color combo for the month and messing around with the frosted filter technique we saw at a previous regional seminar. I'm thinking about that since we have the regional coming up in another few weeks. When doing the frosted filter technique, I dropped the 2 colors (Apricot Appeal and Cameo Coral) of reinkers into a glass cake pan, sprayed plenty of water on the ink, then put the filter down and made sure it was saturated. I didn't add any more ink - only more water before adding another filter to the mix. I then used my heat tool to dry the coffee filters. When the filters were dry, I used the anywhere glue sticks to adhere each filter to a piece of whisper white cs. I used the first filter on the birthday card (filter has bright color intensity) and the second filter on the "Make a Wish" card (filter was softer color intensity). Both cards use all three colors in the April combo. Stamp sets were Heartfelt Thanks and Eat Cake. For the birthday card I used dazzling diamonds, lots of dimensionals, silver cord (retired), lg oval and key tag punchs; for the "make a wish" card, I used vintage brads, wide chocolate chip grosgrain, word window punch, and rub on from Eastern Elegance. Enjoy ladies! Tag, your it! ~ Angie

Wow Wednesday Pocket Card

Happy April everyone! This really isn't a HUGE wow, but everyone like it at my workshop this weekend. We played around with what was in the pocket (a picture, a saying, a gift card, some tickets) a bunch of fun creative ways for gifts. This happens to have a gift card inside (thanks, Becky for letting me use your "dead" gift card in a mad dash)! Most of the product is easy to pick out and as you can see, more DS paper! This one is Cutie Pie! Everyone liked how much it coordinates! The scallop punch made the starburst on the front. Everyone apprecitates more creative ways to use that awesome tool! The tab punch is the wow- a cute way to pull that card out- LOVE IT! Sera
