March Color Combo #1

I couldn't let a month go without missing the color challenge! Sorry to be so late, Kristine! So... I dug out some of my SU! goodies and came up with this! Basic Gray is a fun color to work with and I like to use it when Basic Black is too much. The DS paper is Uptown, which as I realize is retired, oops! Other fun things used in creating this card-Take Three stamp set, Wild Wasabi double stitched ribbon and cardstock, five petal punch, key tag punch, ticket punch, Regal Rose cardstock and ink as well as Basic Gray cardstock and ink. This stamp set is one that sista Carmen won at convention two years ago and I LOVE IT! Also as a little tip- You've seen done this before, but the Wild Wasabi leaves under the flowers, yes, those leaves were also made with the five petal punch. I used dimensionals to pop up the Regal Rose flowers so there is some contrast there and they aren't just Wild Wasabi flowers, but Wild Wasabi leaves if you will. Sera

Wow Wed/Drag & Brag! It's the 26th!

Okay ladies- it's been a while since we posted a Wow Wednesday, not to mention- a whole month since the 26th. So here you go! These wonderful stationary boxes were easy to do (as long as I follow directions and we all know how often that happens) and fun! I made these for Valentine's Day for my sons' teachers. I used the 6x6 DS paper that we were able to purchase last summer, almost amythest, so saffron, certainly celery and rose red and put together cards using those colors as well. One box has Bali Breeze paper too. Each box is able to fit 5 cards and 5 envelopes- they are all stamped too, of course. I used some ribbon for the handles- various kinds (all SU!, but some retired) and that worked. The belly band slides over the top and "sits" at the middlle. I decided to adhere it to the box as well as the ribbon. Sliding parts on my projects tend to create issues. Plus the fact that the bands are tight so when the cards are in the box- everything fits nice and snug. The cards inside follow the same design on the box and all of them had thank you stamped inside. They were a big hit! I'm all about the 3D items these days- LOVE IT! Sera

Happy Easter!

It just wouldn't be right to not acknowledge Easter without these awesome boxes that Angie had for us at the retreat. Of course, they are absolutely awesome! I can't even take credit for this one since Kristine made it for me! Did I share my awesome Easter box with anyone? Of course not- do we not hang on to our best ideas? Although, thankfully Kristine did something different so I can open it from the bottom, a nice escape hatch when I need a chocolate fix! Thanks, Angie and Kristine! Sera

I'm seeing STARS!!

So, I got all done with my post and BAM it disappeared. I can tell you that I don't like "do-overs". This is a card I did because I wanted to play with the new striped grosgrain, new big star punch and also create something boy-ish. CS and inks were wild wasabi, pumpkin pie, bashful blue, & whisper white; both star punches, 3/16 corner rounder, Thanks Tons hostess set & It's Your Birthday stamp sets; dimensionals & silver brads. A River Rock St. Patrick's Day

Kiss
These are Angie's lovely creations that she shared with us our retreat. Of course there is plenty of ginger blossom DS paper! Love that. Sometimes it's fun to use an different shade of green for this American-Irish-excuse-to-drink green-beer-holiday. I'm not bitter- just 100 percent Nor-vee-jen! I wore green today like the rest of 'em! I made these sweet pinch proof mint patties for my co-workers (thanks, Mary for letting me use your stamp set) but of course, I didn't take a photo of these chocolate treats! Happy March 17! Sera

Boho Excitement

Carmen had these two wonderful creations for us to oooh and awww over at the retreat. Boho is all the rage as you can see. Add some DS paper and a few punch-outs or rub-ons and you're set! I'm guessing that these beauties are regal rose, purely pomegranate and some close to cocoa. They certainly do compliment each other don't they? Hey sistas- one more week of SAB! I think I need more rub-ons! Sera

More retreat photos!

Here are the sistas, working so hard and loving every minute of it. We had a full two days with two projects each- we made 10 make and takes! Of course there was a swap, plenty of M&Ms and a bunch of tips and techniques shared by everyone! Next stop for the sistas- regionals in Wisconsin! In the meantime... I'll post plenty of our creations in the days to come. Thanks for everything sistas! Sera
