Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope you were able to enjoy the day. My sons and I spent the morning at the Memorial Day parade here in town. The boys carried the flags for the scouts and had a great time. It's a small event, but important nonetheless. The rest of the day included planting flowers and dreaming about the next landscaping endeavor. My DH goes fishing soon... I have big plans. Yahoo! To the left however, are some great cards that the sistas swapped or shared at our downline meeting last week. In keeping with the nautical theme here, these are perfect! I'm not sure which card belongs to whom, but thanks to all of the sistas for their creations! The month of May is winding down, which is great news if you are an SU enthusiast! That means that the new catalog is only a month away! Happy Summer! Sera

Nautical Expedition
Heidi made these awesome cards using the Nautical Expedition suite. Items in that suite pictured here, include the DSP, nautical expedition (122343), the baker's twine (123125), and the postage stamp punch (122344). This entire suite is outstanding for the men in your life and if you've been shopping at dept stores recently, the nautical theme is every where! Good job SU! Heidi has created some awesome cards and I snapped a bunch of pictures... thanks Heidi! Mary has enjoyed this theme as well, see her post from earlier in the week! Thanks for all of the inspiration sistas. Happy Memorial Day weekend! Sera

It's a beautiful day!
For the first time in weeks, the weather is wonderful so it's a quick post today! I need to get out and find my roses and other landscaping. They are all buried under last summer's foilage. However, here is a card that has summer in mind. This is another pattern in the DSP, beyond the garden suite. Peach parfait and wild wasabi are the colors that make this project. That punched flower was a snap to make using the new blossom bouquet triple layer punch (122464). Very fun! Check out this punch and more. Just click the link to the left! Have a great day! Sera

Beyond the Garden Suite
There are so many great products to the new beyond the garden suite in the summer mini catalog. I love this card that Carmen shared with us at our downline meeting. She used the embossng older on the background and the matching set and flowers for the main focal point. That includes the fabulous florets stamp set (123025), the happy greetings stamp set (123311) and that flower may even be from the simply scrappin kit, playful polka dots (122346). I just got that myself and am very excited to use it! Thanks for sharing, Carmen! Sera

Flower Garden embossing folder
This embossing folder, flower garden (123113) has been fun to work with. This card is a rather simple card, but sometimes thats all it takes! I used cherry cobbler, basic black and very vanilla and the pearls. I've been working on my downline meeting swaps today between baseball and soccer games. I'm very excited to see all of the sistas on Monday! Heidi and Julie are on the mainstage... can't wait to be inspired by all of their creations! Sera

Pumpkin Pie Fest
I am enjoying the Flower Fest stamp set, can you tell? This card is a plain monochromatic card that I had fun putting together. Finally... I purchased a new scallop edge punch after dropping the first one I owned on the cement, drove over it and the dog got it. I didn't realize how much I used this punch until I didn't have one. I used the scallop circle and punched the center out of another flower, sponged it and then put it over the center of this flower. I grabbed a dimensional for, well, dimension and that's it! Love those brights! Sera

Simple Flower Fest
The new set, Flower Fest is one of my faves in the new summer mini catalog. Here are two simple cards in classic fave colors, cherry cobbler and old olive. I always feel as though I need to add something to the center of flowers when I stamp them so thank heaven that SU has plenty of accessories for just that! Enjoy the cards, quick post today! Sera

Spring Crop
Charlene and I have been hosting an every other month crop now for a year. The day includes 12 hours of uninterrupted crafting. In traditional crop format everyone brings there projects to work on but we have added some Stampin' Up bonuses for our guests....make and takes of two full size cards and a 3x3 plus a two page 6x6 scrapbook layout. We provide lunch and dinner and the gals brings snacks for themselves. It's a blast.
This month it was my turn to do the cards. The above card is so NOT my usual style but I saw the colors and the DSP used and I had to do it. Tangerine Tango and Rose Red, embossing with the new Melon Mambo over Tangerine Tango craft ink, plus vintage brads. It was a ton of fun. I had to do a quick 2 minute card to counter the time the above one takes. This whisper white on whisper white 3x3 using the new Pretty Postage and Postage Punch is a breeze to make.
Finally, a new technique for the gals...layered embossing. I used the punch pack to do the tiny flowers, attached them to the mat with glue dots and then ran it together through the Big Shotz with the Lattice embossing envelope. Everyone can use a little "Hope" right? For some reason I have a massive quantity of Pretty in Pink so this was a great way to widdle way at it. It is paired with Peach Parfait for a spring time feel.
Miss you gals but we are having a blast in Alaska with all sorts of new Stampin' Friends. Miss you all! Nicolle

Happy Spring, everyone!
Hello everyone, great to be back. I drop off the face of the earth every once in a while with my health, but I'm back, ready to go. To the left are a few more cards that I made with the Awash with Flowers set. Even though it isn't in the Summer Mini, it's a classic that can be used over and over! I teamed this set with Poppy Parade and the coordinating DSP as well, very fun! I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day! It's May! Isn't that wonderful! Yahoo! Thanks for all of the well wishes... I'll see you tomorrow! Sera

Tuesday, is like a Monday, right? A Masculine Bday card!
Ok, I admit it, I have totally blown off the obligation to post on Mondays. I could come up with a whole list of reasons, but bottom line, just didn't do it. Bad me!
So...what should I post?
Here is a Masculine Birthday Card. Who doesn't need those type of ideas, right?
I used one of my favorite stamp sets Grunge Rock...which is PERFECT for teen boys! Add some DSP from Play Date, a few punches and of course a texture plate with the Big Shot and you have a great "boy"or "man" card!
Thanks for looking!
