Fourth of July invite

I'm having my side of the family over for the 4th, about 15 people, nothing huge, but I still have to clean, cook and decorate and I'm all about the decdorating part. Here is the invite- fairly simps, but it also sparked an idea- a 4th of July banner, no doubt! I'll post that as soon as I finish. I enjoy the red, white and blue theme, something different! I used Only Ovals, Spotlight on Christmas, and the DSP is retired as is the sentiment (or soon to be). Love those star punches! Sera

That is my boy!!!!

I love that I have passed my stamping, hmm, well, I guess, addiction to my family!!!
My son, who will be in 8th grade, has decided to kick his stamping skills up a few notches. He tried some techniques I have on my to do list and showed me up!!! He can make the Big Shot and the Cricut do things I have no idea how to do. He created these creations that I am excited to show off!!Don't be afraid to let your kids play with your stamps and accessories. You just never know what technique they may come up with!!

VINTAGE Tea Party

A little background on this card... my MIL's fondest memories as a child were the tea party's she had with her grandmother, SO, when her daughters (my SIL's) visit next week from Texas, she is hosting a tea party for about 15-20 people and called upon me to create the perfect invitation. I just so happened to have been the recipient of a vintage SU teacup stamp that my DH's aunt found at a garage sale and it was PERFECT for this project - who knew?!?!
I stamped the teacup in black stazon on vanilla CS, then pulled out the mellow moss and cranberry crisp ink (vintage ink for a vintage stamp set) and colored the violets and accents. This was mounted on chocolate chip CS, vintage Recollections DSP from the 06-07 catty, more chocolate chip cs and finally mounted on a mellow moss card (4.25" square). Can't forget that I used the very last bit of my vintage cranberry crisp stitched ribbon. Can anyone tell me what stamp set that teacup is from and what year? Or am I totally lost and it's not even a SU stamp?!?! Thanks for looking & g'nite ~ Sista Angie

Graduation goodies

This past weekend, my nephew graduated from high school. My SIL asked me to make these table decorations for the open house.
Obviously the school colors are maroon and gold, so the colors we chose were Summer Sun and Bravo Burdundy and alternated the layers. The letters in black were cut out using a Cricut machine - thank you Sista LeeAnn, you are the BEST!!!!. Finished size on these babies are 4 x 6 (tent fold). Both the front and back were layered with the 2009 also.
Now onto his graduation card(s)...
The set used here is retired, but it's one of my favs - Year After Year. This gem was only around for a few years, but had 8 great seasonal images like this perfect graduation hat. The greeting is from the Chit Chat rub ons. Again, the paper is Summer and Bravo, with Basic Blk and Whisper Wht. Super simple card to make, but the inspiration credit goes to Sista Carolyn on this one. When this set was new she made a great convention swap with it and I'be been hording that card front ever since.
Here's the inside... I'm really excited about this because I NEVER decorate the insides of my cards! The greeting used on the inside is from the Level 1 Hostess set - Sweet Little Sentiments. I am very proud of him.
And here is my MIL's card - I think I've mentioned before she is a stamper... Lo and behold - we used the same stamp set! She used my fav paper Parisian Breeze and the awesome Sanded background too. Baja Breeze and Choc Chip cardstock and the Congrats SAB set. Love it! Great card Peg.
See this grad hat is just too darn good to give up :-)~ Heidi

Occasions Mini Swaps

Can you believe it's June? It's my favorite month of the year. No real reason other than, the weather, school is out, the weather, weddings, the weather (aside from today and yesterday) and it's the last month before the new Idea Book and Catalog debuts! Sadly, it is also the end of the Occasions Mini. If you like any of the cards below... keep in mind that these stamp sets are also retiring. Some may make a come back, we'll have to see July 1st! Remember, there is a link to the right if you would like to see these awesome sets up close! The stamp sets used below are Great Friend, Oval All and Wagon Full of Fun. The DSP Walk in the Park is featured on the second card- so quick and easy! Sera

BS and the Manhattan Folder

Sorry for posting out of turn, but I was working to finish a couple of these tonight for two club members unable to attend our gathering in May, so I thought I'd share. We added color (pale plum) with a brayer to the back side of the image, added the darker perfect plum with a sponge to the middle of the flower to create more depth, then cut around the image and mounted to pink pirouette CS, then to the perfect plum CS. We also used white jumbo grommet and elegant eggplant grosgrain. Stamp sets were canvas, (can't give it up) and Sincere Salutations. Thanks for the inspiration with this folder Sera and Thanks for looking! Angie
