Items to be retired

This card was made in part by a swap I received at regional. The stamper is Janice Weightman. Thank you, thank you! I modified in a few areas to include as many to-be-retiring colors, stamps and acessories I could find. The colors include whisper white and rose red which are staying and summer sun and glorius green which are not. The stamp set, Happy Everything was a fave, I love the "happy stamp." The punches are sticking around, but they may a look a little different when you see them next week. The clear buttons and taupe gros-grain ribbon are also being shelved for now. We made this card at our opportunity night and everyone liked the simplicity of it. Off to stamp, happy Sunday! Sera

Purple and Gold Graduation!

Our school colors are a variation of Lovely Lilac and Summer Sun, both retiring next week. With the remaining cardstock, I created 25 graduation cards similar to the two below. I really do like this stamp. These cards are quick and easy and if I don't use them all, I have a bunch for next year. SNEAK PEEK! For the first card, you may be noticing a different texture! This is a new embossing folder, called Vintage Wallpaper. As you can see, you can practically feel the texture right there in the picture. Very cool. There is another new embossing folder that I can't wait to get my hands on as well. One week until the new catalog! Sera

Rad grads

In playing around with the chipboard I created a few money holders a while back and they turned out pretty "rad." I used a sponge and "soaked" the g with color, then sprinkled some glossy glaze over the top with a few dazz diamond sparkles and heat set. The bottons were a last minute add (with a dimensional).
Okay really the g ripped right in half as I was melting the powder, so I used the button/dimensional trick to keep it together. Quick tip for the day! I have a few more graduation cards to share as well. I made 20 more over the weekend and that should about take care of the graduates. On to convention swaps, ladies! Sera

Sneak Peek

I was able to get my hands on a new set from the new catalog and I love it. The set is called Because I Care, and it is being used totally differently below, but the flower rocks! You are also getting a look at some new colors, marina mist and wild wasabi... which is an old In Color, but new again this year and here to stay! This color renovation is awesome! Sera

Retiring Colors and Stamps

I've made a few card sets with some retired DSP and the soon-to-be retiring colors. The cards below are part of a 5 card and envelope set that I made for a club member for her birthday next month. The color is apricot appeal and stamp sets, circle circus, not retiring, and wow flowers, to retire. I made a few sets in green galore and gable green as well and they look pretty cool all together. It's a nice and relaxing Father's Day around here, plenty of time to stamp since I am not on a baseball field today AND the father of the house is fishing! It's almost a Mother's Day, hee hee! Sera

June Sista Meeting

Hello everyone! It's great to be back! I've been busy gutting my house and cleaning... the stamp room also! Love that! I realized that I hadn't shared any photos from our last gathering so in the spirit of cleaning, I decided to clean up the blog and post our Opportunity Night pictures! Five ladies attended our meeting and they had a great time. We enjoyed their company and enthusiasm for Stampin' Up! They made two projects and watched a few demonstrations. We had plenty of snacks and we shared the opportunity to join our group. What a great night! Carmen shared this card below. She demonstrated how to make pansies with the butterfly punch. Awesome!
Thanks again for joining us ladies! We had a great time! Oh... and big news... Julie, (second guest from the left) joined us this past weekend! Congratulations to Sista Heidi on her new recruit and Julie, welcome to the sistas! Sera

Daisies

I was inspired by another stamper to create my own impression folder by adhereing die cut images (in this case flowers from the Blossom Party die) to a peice of cardstock larger than 5.5" x 4.25" and running it through the bigshot using the impressions pad, silicone rubber and your standard cutting pad. I used Summer Sun, Basic Black and Whisper White and a variety of punches (1/2" circle, large oval, scalloped square, and tag from the Lots of Tags Sizzlits 4-pack); 5/8" black grosgrain and gingham black ribbons. Give it a try yourself - I think you'll be pleased with the results! Angie

SMC! Last post for now!

This card sums up the great bunch of cards that we've seen so far. This is Sarah's as well and all sorts of stamp sets, and great "extras" went into this card. I've only shared a few things with the set Tropcial Party... those flowers are awesome! I'm closing out this bunch of themed cards, but my Motorcycle set just arrived and I'll have to share a few of those creations. AND- July Fourth too! Sera

SMC! Textured Impressions!

As you look at this picture, I'm sure you want to reach out and touch the pattern you see there just to feel it. Many of my stamping friends weren't too impresssed with this embossing folder at the start, but it's been a hit! I received this first card (King of the Grill) at the Milwaukee regional, love it and Carmen (Elements of Style) made the card below. Two very different ideas with this folder, but a quick and easy way to spice up these cards! Sera

SMC! A few more days to go!

This card is Heidi's simple graduation card that is a real knock out. This neutral card is a great idea for anyone and it's nice and easy for the quick card on the run, male or female. Heidi has made a bunch of these in school colors as well! As I look at this card (it's a swap, no name) I cannot wait for 4th of Juky stamping. I love it. I'm ready to make a few cards with that set, even for Memorial Day! Sera

SMC! Elements of Style

I feel as though I blogged this card before? How sad is that? This was my card for our group swap from the last downline meeting. If you look closer, I "grounded" the flowers with the en francais stamp over the top. Then I used some watercolor crayons to color the flowers. It's very subtle, and so not me. A nice set to get me out of my BOLD comfort zone. The base of this card is aprocot appeal, note that this color will retire on one month. If you want your hands on this color or others, contact me or one of the sistas today! Sera

SMC! Last of the grad cards

This is the last of the grad cards for now. Sarah does it again with these cute buggers! Love them! They make a great card or gift tag depending on your needs. As you all know, I'm not an owl girl, but Sarah, these are so cute! I just need to see them in purple and gold! Wink, wink! Sera
