I'm hosting a swap with some of my customers this month and the theme is birthday cards. One of these talented ladies, Terri, made this for the swap. Her featured set is On The Fly and the happy birthday greeting comes from a retired SU set. Cardstock is Always Artichoke, Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip and Naturals Ivory. Background is stamped w/ Always Artichoke; greeting and image are stamped w/ Basic Brown. Image is then watercolored with our awesome watercolor crayons. Love them, but dont' yet own a single one - what is wrong with me?! Photo corner punch is used to offset the main image - great look! She even stamped the inside with the awesome fish from this set and a birthday message in the same font as the greeting. It totally finishes off the card. Thanks for letting me share Terri!! ~Heidi

Another Western Macho Man

Macho, Macho, Man
I had this card in my mind and it semi-turned out the way I had hoped. I had the other DSP that matches the Wanted set in my head, but of course I don't have it currently. DSP Fall Flowers works! I was looking for the saloon theme card, doors opening, etc. I'm close. My son said I needed a gun stamp of some sort and that would help. Yea, thanks. I've been waiting for that occasion to use my Bronco wheel! Love that wheel! The belly band slides off and on, let's see how many of the dads I send this too figure that out. Most of them have stamping/creative wives, wink wink! Inside, the greeting is stamped from one of my fave retired sets, When I Grow Up. I don't have a current Father's Day greeting- whats up with that? Sera

Weekend Project C
Weekend Project B
I got out my new set, Fresh Cuts and started putting together a bunch of 3x3 cards and envelopes. I kept up with the retired DSP and used colors that I haven't touched in a long time- perfect plum, mellow moss, almost artichoke, etc. When I started with SU! over 8 years ago- the plums were THE colors! So... now I have love notes and a card organizer for the gift. By the way, the stamp set, Fresh Cuts is an awesome choice for the 3x3 size. It fits perfect (obviously) but there is enough on the pattern that it gives the cards awesome dimension! On to regular cards! Sera

Teacher Gifts & Color Combo #2
These are the card sets I made for the kids' teachers. The boxes below are made from a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock and held this set of cards and some chocolates.
I think the supplies are pretty straightforward so I won't bore you with the details - but over 1/2 of these qualify for this month's color combo too! Thanks - that was easy :)
Ok - I've tried loading this photo 4 times and I can't figure out why it is sideways again. I even tried rotating it and then loading it again, etc. Anyway - these were smaller teacher sets given to other teachers my daughter had throughout the year other than homeroom. 3x3 cards sets that were monogrammed with the teachers last initial. Also a piece of chocolate caramel thrown in too.
The "envelope" that holds the 3 cards starts out as a 6" circle and is scored at 1 3/4 on the bottom and 1 1/4 on the sides. I stamped the background from Baroque Motifs in versamak for just a little something.

Tart & Tangy Tin
Let this be the first macho man warning. In the spirit of Father's Day, starting on Monday, it's Macho Man Monday (and the rest of the week)! Cards, gifts and or scrapbook pages with men in mind. We're posting every day! Keep it "G" rated sistas. If you really have the most awesome post ever, you still have a few days... post by Monday... then save things. We will do Macho Man Monday all week through Father's Day. Feel free to post more than one time on the same day so we have lots to share. Lets see these awesome SU stamp sets focus on the men in our lives! It's only a week, then back to the girly girls. Sera

7 year old Birthday Card
My baby boy turns 7 tomorrow. Where in the world did 7 years go?? This is his birthday card. And like any normal stamping mother would do - I made this card to double as a demonstration at a workshop a few weeks ago. We must mulit-task when necessary. Sorry for the terrible picture (and why is it turned sideways? - never had that happen before, but it's too late to worry about it now) here's the details: Card base is tempting turquoise, other colors are wild wasabi, real red, more mustard and basic black. The circle is a chipboard center popped out of some flower or something. I thought this was a great way to use up those random pieces. The Take a Number wheel was wheeled accross the wasabi and then again on red with the 7 being cut out. Celebrate from Hugs and wishes stamped in black and the Crop-a-dile punched the hole in the chipboard for the black gingham ribbon to tie it all together. Oh and stars from Background Basics are stamped on the mustard strip but its hard to see in the photo. ~Heidi
