Holiday 10-10-10

One month ago today Julie and I hosted a Holiday 10-10-10 Gift Making event. This event was on Oct 10, 2010 (10-10-10). I have to give credit to someone else in our group for that great idea, but when I heard it I knew I wanted to run with it. Below are the 10 Holiday gift projects that each person made. The idea was that there were 10 projects that could each be completed in about 10 minutes for $10. The event was a Huge Sucess! 1) Here is a mini lunch sack from the Holiday Mini Catalog. The strip of Real Red DSP is from the Brights stack. The Santa face from Jolly Old St Nick was stamped in Real Red and then cut out. The verse from the Just Believe stamp set goes perfect with a Santa image - don't you think? 2) Then we made a tag portfolio using a 4 x 6 cello bag. The base is 1/2 sheet of real red cardstock cut the long way - then trimmed down for the flap. The white ribbon holds the portfolio closed and can be slid down to gain access to the tags inside. The tags are from the set Tags Til Christmas. Kay Kalthoff shared the wonderful idea that inspired this. Click here to see it. 3) Here we have a triangle treat box stamped with Circle Circus. I have to admit, this is probably the least "Holiday" stamp set I own, but when you use the colors that match the Candy Cane DSP, it totally works. Add one of those great buttons and a little punch of the DSP with a greeting and you are set! 4) Next is a Gift card holder. The base measures 4 1/4 wide by 6 5/8. Score at 2 3/8 and 4 7/8. Scallop punch the short edge and adhere the other flap with sticky strip to make the pocket. Tree from Paisley Prints stamped in Garden Green on Wild Wasabi cardstock. 5) Magnet created by using a flat clear marble or stone. Snowman image from Jolly Old St. Nick punched out w/ 1" circle punch adhered with two way glue and a circular magnet adhered to the back. 6) Matchbox die box (to hold the magnet if you choose). We had alternating bases/wraps of Crumb Cake and Whisper White. 7) Two Tags Bigz die book mark card. The bookmark from the Two Tags die pulls out of the front of this card. Deck the Halls DSP and Perfect Punches used. 8) Treat Holder - use two of the other tag from the Two Tags die for this one. Just adhere the bottom flaps together, insert treat and tie top together with ribbon. Afterthoughts and Northern Hearts Level 1 hostess sets used on this. 9) Deck the Halls Designer Fabric cut in the shape of the Top Note die and stuffed with fiberfill makes the perfect ornament. The two layers of fabric were sewn together using our linen thread. The Perfect Punches "Joy" greeting goes perfect with this as well. And last but not least... 10) A gift sack to hold all their goodies. A white craft sack was stamped with the Season of joy set using Riding Hood Red and Old Olive. There they are - all 10 projects. Hope you like them! ~Heidi
