I made this for my sister & BIL anniversary in July and am just getting around to posting it. I used my WWC & aqua painter to do the watercoloring; bordering blue, not quite navy, so safron CS; sanded background, summer by the sea, & warm words SS; HPH (antique brass) & dimensionals. This was the first time in a long time I actually made a card for an occasion rather than taking one from my stash. I've been doing a lot of stamping this weekend, so, will have more stuff to blog, but thought I'd share this oldie-but-goodie tonight. Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend before school starts Tuesday! ~ Angie

(very) Inspired by Nature
After you play around with this set enough, you wonder how you ever got along without it. Of course- I had to own every silhouette option in the new idea book and catalog after playing with this set! With these two cards- they were both created with the same style in mind. I used Versamark Ink and stamped the grass first. The flowers over the top were stamped with Craft Ink, one with Vanilla, the other, White. I did a couple variations as far as embellishing and other stamping, but the idea of the card is the exact same. Love it! Oh- and Happy Anniversary Heidi and Jeremy! Sera

August Color Combo #2
This card is missing the Kiwi Kiss, but nothing else! We learned this (relearned, actually) technique at convention with the Upsy Daisy set and since Silhouettes are all the rage, I decided to try it on this card. Many of the sistas have seen this already, but I have another for the swap that I hope you'll love! For the first time in forever, I actually stamped color on color too. I'm particular about stamping on white or vanilla all of the time, but the sentiment on the color worked perfectly. This card does look better in person, but this set, Inspired by Nature, makes any technique or combo look great! I'll have more of these to share over the weekend as well! Oh- and Happy Birthday, Angie! Sera

Creations with new stamps!
Here are two cards that Heidi and Carmen made at a recent event we had last weekend! These awesome creations were made using sets the sets we received at convention this year. You can see that fun new color, tangerine tango- it looks great with apricot appeal and chocolate chip! Just above that card is Carmen's creation with two other in colors '08. In fact, that card is the August color combo (almost)! These cards were a hit! Every stamper there was so excited that they were able to make these beautiful cards and take them home! Sera

Ronald McDonald House Cards
The sistas at convention are shown here making a donation of 285 *yes* you heard that correctly ~ 285 full cards and envelopes to the Ronald McDonald House. The cards are used by families staying at houses around the country to send out for birthdays, thank you's and other occasions. This is a tradition we adopted last year (donating around 260 cards) and our goal is to continue increasing our numbers each and every year for this incredible cause. Thanks to everyone who contributed!! ~ Angie

Wedding present
I was trying to think of something that was different in regard to wedding gifts, and of course I had to make something. So about two hours removed from getting a gift card, I made this recipe box with 36 recipie cards and 6 dividers. Once it's all together in the tin, it looks great! I did purchase a few cookbooks to go with it as well. This was semi-inspired by Carrie C. in SLC. The recipe stamp set is very old as well as the tall tales alphabet (my fave), but everything coordinates with the Summer Picnic DSP even though it may look all over the place (I promise, it matches) in the pictures. Off to the next project! Sera

Convention Inspired Baptism
My nephew, Dean, is getting baptized today and this cute little keepsake book is part of his gift. At convention they showed some of the new Decor Elements which are coming in the fall and demoed a great book/box like this filled with a set of notecards to be given as a gift. The book can then be used later as a keepsake box. Please note you have to use the note sized cards as standard size cards were a little too big. The book was purchased at Hobby Lobby and the designer paper is from there at well. The "D" on the front started out as an On Board Simon uppercase D, but that was too small so this D is also from Hobby Lobby. The box is unfinished and the paper was cut to fit and Modge Podged in place.
Next is a big wall "D" they can use for decoration in his room. Excuse my feet from that photo - ha!!
Finally a set of 8 thank you cards with envelopes and postage. The cards are made using Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, DSP from Hobby Lobby and the Wild About You set to match the safari theme in his room. Hope they like them :)
Have a great weekend. ~Heidi

What an experience
This was the last picture we took at convention '08. Carmen has a shot with us in the picture that is a lot better, yet you can still see this massive stage "prop." I put this photo up as a way to celebrate all sorts of things! The new catalog is truly amazing. Just when we thought they couldn't top the last one- BAM! They do. The sistas had an amazing time and we're back ready to share with all of you. As soon as we get things in order, we'll have more posts and items to share. I'm so lucky to be a part of all this and I can't wait to stamp with the sistas next week. We have a full agenda! Sera

Having a blast at convention!
Here we are enjoying every second of convention! We had a full day with classes, the BIG announcement and workshop wows. Of course if you look at the demo website you will see what the announcement is- I couldn't do it justice here (Hint: Sizzix). The above photo is the sistas at headquarters and you can see Angie and Heidi playing with the new decor elements. They are jazzing up that convention bag. Pretty cool! We were able to see lots of cards on the display boards and we are paying attention to all of the things that Leslie has made! Awesome job! We can't wait to share! Psst- all of the new stamp sets (the ones that are brand new) are die cut! Yahoo! Chat with you soon! Sera
