Manhattan Flowers

These cards have all been made with the Manhattan Flower impressions folder. It's the quick and easy way to emboss with out so many tools. Just send it through the Big Shot! I've been able to make some very elegant cards with this, Love it! This card is exactly the same as the third card below, although this is so saffron. The DSP behind the vellum is Tea Party.

This card above was made with some retired items, but I wanted to try the folder with some dark colors just to see how it looked. Aside from the not-so-great photo you can see, it's pretty cool!

This card is Baha Breeze and I used DSP Walk in the Park behind the vellum. I put two pieces of vellum in at a time and that seems to work the best. That way the flowers tend not to crack or rip right through the vellum. The DSP behind the vellum shows through just enough... very neat!

With this card, this is vellum again, but sponged with regal rose and then adhered to regal rose cardstock. The veins of the flowers pick up the color rather nicely. Turning the flowers sideways is another way to use this impressions folder! Another great tip is to put some DSP in the folder and the roses are imprinted right onto the DSP. With the right pattern it looks great. This is such a fun thing to use and at $7.95, it's a great value! Sera

Big Shot Mother's Day Box

I'm having more fun with my Big Shot box as you can see. The DSP Good Morning Sunshine has been very fun to work with, despite the owls! Making a window with the clear window sheets is something different as well. I just cut a piece larger than the oval and taped it in there, and that's it! Honestly, I was going to pull out the Pacific Point colored M&Ms to match, but the colors worked, some tangerine tango, summer sun and riding hood red... hee hee. Sera

More Big Shot baskets

I promise to stop posting all of these baskets one of these days, but this set were for some friends at work and I couldn't resist posting them! Of course these are the '07 in colors and the Ginger Blossoms paper, miss them! Quick post for today! Sera

Tangerine Daisies!

I got my hands on this Daisy Die and I knew exactly what I was going to do with it! I do enjoy this type of fold... old school stationary. I punched a large circle (I call it the mega circle at my workshops) and layered the three flowers so that the petals alternated. The circle was simply something I could attach the flowers to. Then I used variations of Tangerine Tango DSP to accent the rest! Remember, the DSP is on sale! Buy three, get one free! See the specials at the right for details.

The stamp set, Wow Flowers was perfect to use with this card. You can use it on the inside or outside! I have showed this at our retreat and two different workshops, it's a hit! Love that BIG SHOT! Sera

Big Shot box #2

This box was a cinch! This was one of the projects at my butterflies and blooms party this past weekend. Each stamper was given a 6 by 12 sheet of DSP, all of the patterns in Good Morning Sunshine. They ran it through the Big Shot with the Box #2 XL die. A large piece comes out, scored, cut and ready to fold. I was shocked at how quickly it came together. There isn't any fussing and as long as the feet overlap each other as it comes together, Voila! With the scrap piece that was left there is enough space to punch out a scallop, turn it over (of course, it matches perfectly) and then embellish. We used the Cheep talk set for this project. I love those little birds and I'm not a bird girl (Cardinal Christmas does not count).

When everyone was to make this box at my workshop, they were tentative at the start. Once they began folding on the score lines, they all wanted to figure it out without any assistance. They loved it! In fact, I have a few wedding favor creations to start planning! The Big Shot is awesome! Sera

Big Shot Mini Scallop Scrapbook

This mini scrapbook was inspired by a demonstration shown at the Minneapolis Regional. All pages and covers were created using the Scallop Circle die and the Big Shot. The front and back covers are protected by a layer of the new think Window Sheets which are available in the Occasions mini catalog. These are extra thick and do not easily bend which is perfect for this purpose. Next the front and back covers were created using the white backing from the designer series paper (DSP) packs. Don't throw that piece away when you are done with your DSP! There are so many great uses for that stuff. The cover was embelished using the SU! exclusive Billboard decorative strip die. This die includes both the upper and lower case alphabets so one strip of real red cardstock ran through gave me all the letters I needed for my title (thanks sista Lee Ann!!!) Next there are 8 whisper white pages inside. Total I had 6 cranks through the Big Shot and I have a mini scrapbook with 16 pages ready to fill with fun memories of an upcoming vacation. How simple! The whole pile was punched using the cropadile and clipped together with a ring binder. An assortment of SU! ribbons decorates that binder.

You will notice I have a great Mickey shaped punch both on the front and back covers. It is not SU! but absolutely perfect for this project! Both the punch and the great Disney themed printed paper used on the back were gifts from friends (Thanks ladies!!!) and will be put to good use.

Oh and one last thing - notice the perfect layered circles of Real Red on the front and the printed paper on the back? Those were created with my other favorite toy - the Circle Scissor Plus. Great toy - SUPER easy to use too. Love it!! ~Heidi

Big Shot Week!

It's Big Shot week! These baskets have been seen on other blogs and I was able to modify all of those directions to come with this version. I used the pieces from the Baskets and Blooms XL die and then trimmed the bottoms of the baskets so the would sit level. The inside is made of cardstock so the baskets are more stable. The cardstock is 7in by 6in scored at 2in on each side. I adhered the side of the box and then folded up the corner pieces but kept them at an angle so they would match the basket shape better. There was some extra cardstock peeking through the handles and

I trimmed it off at an angle as you can see with the basic gray cardstock. The DSP is Walk in the Park from the occasions mini catalog. I used some brads and ribbon for the finishing touch. The tags are from the die and they are slick to use too! Alright sistas, for Big Shot week, it means just that. Let's share our Big Shot projects with everyone! Big Shot Week ends on Sunday, May 10! Inspired by Sera

Ladies, remember the shoebox card Sera had us do using the big shot with the tangerine tango CS & DSP; well her card inspired this card. I used whisper white, riding hood red, basic black & basic gray CS, DSP from the current occasions mini catalog, pretties kit, oval all SS, fire circle brad, wide, scalloped, and lg oval punches (also 1 1/4" circle punch behind the pretty), scalloped edge punch. Pretty simple but I feel like it still needs something. If you figure it out, let me know. G'night ... Angie

April Club - Lots of Vellum

The theme at this month's club meeting was vellum. Below are cards we made at the club or inspiration I had while creating which I shared with the group.

First is an oldie but goodie, Heartfelt Thanks, along with Wonderful Favorites. Flower is inked in cameo coral/ruby red and certainly celery/old olive. Cardstock is certainly celery, cameo coral, ruby red, whisper white and vellum cardstock. Accessories are photo corner punch and vintage brads.

Next is a total CASE from Dannie Graves (spelling? - I will check and correct if I'm wrong). This uses the new Manhatten Flower Impressions folder. This is very similar to a card Sera created at the Sista retreat except this version has had the top of the flower trimmed off. Ink is Basic Black, cardstock is Vellum CS, Basic Black, Basic Gray and Whisper white. I also used the new

satin ribbon from the mini - Love it!! The club made Sera's card in Baja Breeze.

This was not a card they made, but while messing around designing this came to mind. To be honest I found some full flowers using this same idea on splitcoast. The vellum here is paper, not the vellum cardstock. It is punched out with the large oval and using both the small and large oval a oval ring was created. I used my 2 way glue pen to adhere the 2. Petals are cameo coral, background is so saffron and the stem, ribbon and card base are kiwi kiss. See the whisper white layer?? When was the last time you used white as a layer? I think that's a first for me.

They also made this card using the Stained Glass technique which Angie taught us at the retreat. I substituted markers for the Water Color Crayons, and I was still happy with the results.

Spring has Sprung!

I got to play more with the Big Shot with Sarah Grygo on Sunday. We talked about how so many people are so creative! We got this idea from the Stampin Up Demonstrator web site and kicked it up a notch. Using the SU Top Note and the flowers from the Baskets and Blooms Dies, add a 5 Petal Flower punch with a Boho Blossoms and some bling you have a spring basket that won't need watering or any care!

Mother's Day is on it's way, and these cards are perfect for Mom, don't you think? Although someone told me that the only thing wrong with these are that the waist in the dress are way to little. All you need is the scallop circle die and a bone folder.

Sandals!

In this state (Minnesota), we only have about 4 months of sandal weather. I finally got a pedicure yesterday so I was ready for our prom today. Well in this state, it's 90 degrees one day and 34 degrees the next day, but I still wore my sandals! I saw this card and it matched my weekend perfectly! LOVE IT! I'm busy getting things ready for Big Shot week in May sistas, so if you have some projects save them for Big Shot week, starting May 3rd. Perhaps you can make some footwear! Happy Administrative Professionals Day!

Since I hoard the DSP, once I came across these cute basket/bags I was hooked. And then of course that butterfly die comes out for the Big Shot and I went crazy. I made these for our administrative professionals at work and they loved them. I hadn't quite figured out what I would do with this DSP, but I just adore those little birds and that pacific point is growing on me! Owls and pears are all the rage too, and in fact I saw the matching plate, glass and other table wear to match this DSP. It was all nicely displayed at Target! Sista Heidi mentioned that I would know it when I saw it, she was right on, matching colors and all. Sera
