Convention Memory #6

In 2006, the theme was Better your Best and convention had a "schoolish" atmosphere to it. Angie made these awesome frames and lunch boxes, sticking with the theme! Aren't they awesome? Those lunch boxes were all the rage at one point. They are still fun to make and so cute. We still make convention gifts for each other each year. Instead of giving them to each other at the hotel, we now wait until the post convention party so we don't have to take them with us and pack them twice. Although I like to sneak in a little something... at Olive Garden every year. It's tradition! Sera

Convention Memory #5

We got to pick orders on the line in 2006. They girls are moving so fast they are blurred in the photos. That was pretty cool. It was nerve racking being responsible for the items! Did you have an error in your order in July of '06? Yea, sorry about that! Sera

Convention Memory #4

One of us insists that we bring our boas to convention every year. I won't name names. Although they do make our lovely group sparkle, we don't take them anymore since they "weigh" so much, or because the feathers are a mess in our luggage, or... hee hee. We have such an awesome time every year! If you are looking at these great pictures and thinking that becoming a demonstrator is right for you... check out the demonstrator special! Remember, you can join us at convention. Be part of the sistas, click the link to the right! Sera

Convention Memory #3

The big flower van! Remember that? This was Convention 2005, Creativity at Work. When the van came driving out on stage the place exploded! That was an incredible convention that year, although I could say that about every single one. Five of us went that year (the most ever from our group) and we had a great time! It was Heidi's first, and Carmen and Sera celebrated their five years with SU! Love it!

Convention Memory #2

This was a major highlight of the 2004 convention when Mr. and Mrs. Day stopped to say hello to us. OR we stopped them. Lynnae was so excited and you can see her there in awe. Of course, we were sitting in the very front in 2004 (our first year of that). In '03 we never quite got to the first row, but did sit in the second row on the last day and decided to start that tradition. I think "groupies" is the word. Sera

Convention Memory #1

Convention memory from 2004, Feel the Magic in Orlando, FL. We had a great time hanging out in the lobby waiting for the ducks at the Peabody. That was the best hotel we have ever stayed at in our convention careers (so far). It was Angie's first and I'm sure she was wondering what she had gotten herself into! We didn't even let her put her bags down in the hotel room before we said, "Let's go get our hands on the catalog!" More pictures to come! Sera

Razzleberry box

Thanks to Sera for reminding me what a great resource our demo website is for ideas. I was in need of a great 3D item for my club this past weekend and watched the box video and cranked this box out using the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. The box has a choc chip bottom. I used vintage wide satin choc chip ribbon with the new Crushed Curry ribbon as a band, then - my new favorite thing: the Blossom Party Original Sizzix Die! WOW I love that thing! I will share more projects in the future that I made using that die. Thanks for looking! Angie

Bridal Shower Banner

Lynnae shared this awesome banner with us this week... doesn't it rock! She did such a nice job and we were ooohing and aaahing about it the whole night. She is so awesome! If you have a shower coming up, you know who to call, and it ain't Ghostbusters, let me tell ya! ( Sorry, I had to say that). Speaking of old songs and memories... starting Sunday, July 26, we are going to blog convention memories of the past. I have plenty to share... and I'm sure that many of the sistas do as well! We will blog these awesome moments until just before we leave, August 3. Stay tuned! Sera

Stamping with RMHC

We had a great time stamping tonight at the RMH. Lynnae and Lee Ann had two great projects and the stampers loved them. We had a chance to look through the house craft supplies to get an idea about what else they need. We will discuss that at our next meeting. This is such a great opportunity! Thanks to everyone for a great evening! Sera

Sports Savy

I made this card for a friend of my son's. The C and I are for the towns that make the school, Cambridge/Isanti and of course the school colors. Those of you that follow the MN Twins, it looks like the T and C that they use for their logo. The soccer set is retired and we've had many more sports sets since then, but this card is awesome for the middle school kids and I plan to make a bunch with all sorts of sports to have on hand. You know how it is, "Mom, I have a birthday party in an hour. Did you get the present and the card?!" Becky

Love the peeps!

Sera did come over and we cranked out a bunch of swaps so I'm ready for convention even though I'm not going. We spent more time trying to think of ideas, but once we did, we were cruising. I fell in love with this bird style (my peeps) and had to use them. The card above is in old olive, rich razzleberry and Sera's fave color orchid opulence- (she can't stand it). The colors came to me from the Cottage Wall DSP. The card looks better in person, and yes, I cut out the peeps, but I'm done with my convention swaps, and have two more to share with you later! HA! Love the new "In Colors"

I was in the mood to keep going with this set and created a few more birthday cards. I love this one. I stepped it up a notch using a circle fire brad, yellow and some new melon mambo polka dot ribbon. It all matches perfectly!
I used Circle Circus and Think Happy Thoughts- love them both! In fact, the colors look a lot better up close- yes I need a new camera. I went shopping for one last night and thought about it too much and left three places without buying one. Augh! Other than that... I'm headed to sista Kristine's to pick up her convention swaps today, how fun! Sera

Birthday Box

My friend Tracy turns 40 this month and among a few other things, I made her this birthday box that is filled with a bunch of cards that she can use right away. This is the new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. Can you just eat it? Love it! I used Circle Circus (tone on tone) with the new In Colors '09 and pumpkin pie. They are going to be a hit. This box was inspired by the video that SU has for their demonstrators. It is 2 sheets of 12x12 and I made the cover a little different by using the scallop edge punch to decorate the edges a bit. In the top corner I used Define your Like, kindness.
I included some standard sized cards mainly and a few 3x3 cards as well. All of the envelopes are also stamped, of course. The new punch, Modern Label is perfect for small sentiments and I am finding all sorts of uses for that Teeny Tiny Wishes set! Enjoy! Sera

Cupcake Birthday

This birthday card is one of my faves. The colors here are RH Red and P Pirouette that have since retired (or have they?) but I love them. I love this cupcake too! This card in some variation may be a convention swap possibility. My scallop circle punch has since lost it's punch recently after repeat usage and a few drops on the floor. I ordred on the first day they were available and everyone that has used it mentioned that it was "different." That difference has caught up with me. Don't you wish you had a penny for every scallop circle you've ever punched? Off to order one! Sera

In Color Cards

These are the color cards I put together for my stamp club. I had an order come in today and decided to enclose these with their package. I did design a template so this will print 3 cards to one sheet of whisper white cardstock. Email me if you'd like the file. Angie

Big Shot Bag

This lovely bag was made for a young lady for her birthday. I have yet to give it to her, of course. Leslie was the inspiration for this. She had made a similar bag for me this past spring. Pretty cool eh? The cardstock and DSP has long since retired, okay, a few days ago. However, I plan to stamp all afternoon with some new toys and my preorder should be here today as well! I'll share those creations with you as well! Check out the deal of the week! There is a Big Shot Bag there too! Sera

Happy Fourth Banner

Here are snips of the banner I made for the weekend. As you can see here, some of this DSP has been retired for seven years! I tried to stick with night of navy, real red and bashful blue and with years of retired DSP, it worked out fairly well. I tried to have the flowers look like fireworks. They do if you stand far enough away from the banner, hee hee. Once I get it put up, I'll share the full banner. And by the way, Happy New Idea book & Catalog debut day! Sera
